It is strongly recommended that you attend at least one City Council meeting in person or virtually. Administration

All essays must be submitted no later than Monday, April 22, 2024

The Award Committee will select the Award recipients based upon a review of the application, the quality and originality of the essay, the scope of extracurricular activities, and elected participation in a City Council meeting. (Although attendance is not a requirement, this will be taken into consideration when the total application is evaluated.)

The submitted essays become the property of the Pepper Pike Civic League and may be distributed or published at the discretion of the League.

About The Pepper Pike Civic League

The Pepper Pike Civic League (PPCL) is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Its goals include promoting good government, supplying information pertinent to government affairs, providing a conduit for interaction between Pepper Pike residents and government entities, and encouraging citizens to take an informed and active interest in the activities of their government and their community. Our programs include:

An annual Town Hall “State of the City” Meeting in the spring at which residents can hear from, and question Pepper Pike officials and other invited experts with regard to the state of the City and the issues it faces.

An annual Candidates & Issues Forum in September at which candidates for local, state, and national offices speak, and ballot issues are discussed.

Maintaining an awareness of government activities by assigning its Trustees to attend meetings of the Pepper Pike City Council and the Orange School Board.

Engaging in various activities with the City and the School District to promote the general well-being of the community.
